Want to get more from your camera? Tired of just using the AUTO setting? Having previously provided photography training on a one to one and couple basis, from 2012 I will be expanding the tuition to small groups of about 6 people. The courses are, or should be , fun, relaxed while both informative and hopefully inspiring. What better way to learn about your camera and photography, than by having your questions answered as you take photos?

You can buy a course voucher for £75. The voucher is vaild for 2012 group courses and can be a part payment for the ( POA ) indicated bespoke courses

I will be running 2 main courses in 2012, each are to be ran on set dates. Dates and details are listed below:

1. Off AUTO, aimed at those wanting to explore their cameras settings, modes, functions and to become confident with their camera and how it works and how to take a more pleasing photo.
2. MORE, a follow on course that expands on some technicalities though is intended to explore areas and ideas of composition.

In addition to the set dates I can offer fully bespoke courses with the flexibility for you to choose the date, for the following booking types:

• one to one courses ( POA )
• couples booking ( parent & child or 2 friends etc POA )
• your group bookings ( family, friends, colleagues etc POA )

Where, when and how long:

• All courses are on location so suitable clothing will be required.
• Locations used are mainly in the Teesside area though courses can be ran from many locations throughout the Northeast & North Yorkshire.
• Courses are scheduled for at least 6 hours though can run longer, I aim to make these enjoyable fun and informative days.
• Birthday, christmas present with a difference.

Course 1: Off AUTO - Getting more from your camera.

• fun, interesting and informative one day 6 hour course on location ( throughout the Northeast & North Yorkshire )
• course notes printed, as PDF & in bullet point form for you to take anywhere as immediate reference.
• stop using AUTO & learn to use the other program modes.
• consider composition and how to make your photos more pleasing to look at.

Course 2: MORE - Seeing the light,

• relaxed and inspirational, I hope, one day 6 hour course on location ( throughout the northeast & north yorkshire )
• course notes printed, as PDF & in bullet point form for you to take anywhere as immediate reference.
• we'll discuss more technical aspects though not enough to give you brain fade
• Composition. Rules are guides and self expression is everything:
  • looking for the light.
  • Rule of 3rds is all very good but don't let it ruin your photograph.
  • space
  • framing
  • shadows, colour and texture.
  • backgrounds rule or ruin.
  • get it right in camera, don't edit.
  • see the final image, capture the photo for a post production creation.

We've all seen and read the latest gadget, compact digital camera, new bridge camera reviews and even looked at DSLR offerings from Nikon, Canon, Sony, Fuji, Panasonic, Samsung, Olympus.... you get the idea, there are hundreds of cameras out there not to mention camera phones and each seem to have features that claim to take the best photo or possibly make you the best photographer ever and all make you wonder how any photo before this camera was ever possible!

If you're thinking of buying or upgrading a camera and are not sure which level to buy and what benefits each have over the other I will bring one of each: compact, bridge & DSLR with me to every course, I'm happy for you to try and to demonstrate each on the day.

Photography training course dates available, buy a course as a gift: you receive a voucher that is vaild for 12 months. The voucher will cover the entire cost of each individual 2012 courses & can count towards the fee of the (POA) itenised courses.
